Editor's Thoughts:

This week we publish only the photos of the candidate introductions for the elective positions for 2018. Ballots were distributed via email to LVR members about 2 weeks ago. So vote, and remember, you can vote for only one of the two Directors listed below.

We're not going to remind you again.     Oh..... Wait...... maybe we will.

Results will be announced at the December 3 members' breakfast and in the December 3 edition of this Newsletter.

If you are unable to vote on Survey Monkey, have lost the email with the voting instructions, or have an Associate/Family member who is unable to vote on Survey Monkey, please have them cast their vote via email to Salomon Braun at  salo65nv@gmail.com.

Ballots must be received no later than November 29th

The new LVR management team will take over on January 1, 2018. We note that setting up the calendar of LVR activities for 2018 will begin at the Dec 6 Board meeting (see the Board meeting notice below).

Other recent events attended by LVR members were the Targa Baja California rally in October and SEMA earlier this month.  We have extensive pictures from these events and will be publishing them in the coming weeks.   Our special thanks and acknowledgments go out to Salomon  Braun for the Targa Baja pictures and Jim Sardisco for pictures from SEMA.

November 16  (Thursday): Third Thursday Social at Stoney's Rockin Country.

LVR Social chair Todd hit a walk-off home run this past Thursday night with his setting up the Third Thursday Social at Stoney's Rockin' Country in Town Square.

Imagine, if you will, 20 or 25 LVR'ers out on the floor learning Line Dancing!

And doing pretty well at it too.

While a number of the more timid types watched from the VIP dancing-watching platform.

What an absolute HOOT! The pictures don't do it justice.

Like they say....  You had to be there.

November 18-19 (Saturday-Sunday): Driver Education and Open Track Event

We had perfect weather for our last DE event of 2017.  The temp started out cool, but with not a cloud in the sky the bright sun warmed the air to the low '70s and the track, participants, and cars were in 7th heaven.

Over
100 participants in new and classic Porsches (GT3 RS, 911, 997, 991, 944, 914, Caymans, and Boxsters) plus non-Porsches (Corvette, VW, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Mustang, and too many other to mention) arrived early for Tech Inspection.

After a brief driver's meeting the experienced drivers were sent out for their morning run groups. Ten first-timers remained behind for the driver's classroom and ground school sessions.

December 3 (Sunday): Members Breakfast at the Red Rock Country Club, 9:00 am

The last breakfast of the year will be on Dec 5. We'll be at the Red Rock Country Club. For those not attending before, the address is 2250 Red Springs Dr. This is at the western end of Sahara Ave., just west of the 215.

The fabulous buffet and omelet stations will be there for us as usual, as will the standing around, drinking coffee, and socializing.

As a special feature, the LVR Board, including the newly-elected officers, will be introduced, and each given the opportunity to make a really long speech explaining their platforms and policies.

Parking for Porsches is on the entrance circle at the Club.

The cost is still only $14, although gratuities for the servers and valet are always appreciated. (We don't actually valet our Porsches; the valets just keep the bears away from the cars while we're inside.)

For more info, contact Michael Dugan at mduganre@gmail.com or any Board member.
