Editor's Thoughts:
Over the years of this online Newsletter (going on 6 now), we've heard some comments about its format - that of the long scroll down that's needed to see the whole thing. We've noticed that some g-mail platforms arbitrarily truncate the Newsletter somewhere in the middle, requiring a click on something to get g-mail to display the rest. (Just who do they think they are?)

Recently, your Editors learned of a new "template" available from Constant Contact (the service that distributes the Newsletter for us) for generating something like our Newsletter. We investigated it.

The new template has lots of things done differently, but we didn't notice anything done significantly better or more easily. Knowing how quickly we confuse, doing things differently might, all by itself, cause problems. Importantly, the thing produced a narrower result. We couldn't figure out why. Being narrower, it required more length than our current arrangement in order to contain the same information. That would mean an even longer downward scroll.

So, knowing how tiring it is for you to turn that little wheel on your mouse, or to swipe the screen on the smart phone, we decided against the newer template. You'll just have to put up with the format we've been using, OK?

So, flex your finger, take a deep breath, and scroll away.

Notices from the Board:

Our Las Vegas Region Secretary, Joan Kramer, is ill and will be in the shop for a while. In the meantime, members of the Board will fill in  temporarily until the repairs are completed. If you'd like to drop her a card, the address is St. Joseph's Hospital, 350 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85013. We're sure she would appreciate it.

Feb 24 (Sat): Tech Session at Premier Sportscar Service

We're setting new standards for Porsche tech sessions. This one discussed suspension and handling. Lots of hands-on displays, lots of questions. Twenty-two students, and another home run by Kent Moore and Tony Mazzagatti.
We milled around the coffee and doughnuts
in wild anticipation of the presentation.
Our presenters were ready to spring into action.
Tony and Kent, or at times, Felix and Oscar, or
Stan and Ollie, or just an old married couple.
It was SRO with a very attentive audience.

But we still don't understand how a turbo tie rod end is faster than a regular one.

Stay tuned for info on the next session. They're already working on the topic.

Member Car For Sale

2001 Boxster S - $11,000

Mechanically sound Boxster purchased from Todd Trimble at Trophy Performance. 126k on chassis/76k on engine. Engine replaced about 3 years ago and during that time the IMS bearing was replaced as well as a new clutch. All work done at Trophy, was just in for service at the beginning of February and runs great. Cosmetically it isn't perfect. It has chips and some scratches but would make a great weekend car/track car. It's been to some of the events at Spring Mountain and has Pagid Orange brake pads which are a good compromising street/track pad.
