It promises to be a blockbuster event that you will not want to miss.

Tech Tactics West is a day dedicated to Porsche technical information. This event is for the casual information gatherer, the everyday Porsche mechanic and all Porsche enthusiasts in-between. Participants will be treated to a day of presentations by auto industry experts, including Porsche Cars North America Specialists, members of the PCA Technical Committee and special guest speakers. Held at the Porsche Training facility in Eastvale, CA, this state-of-the-art facility is used to train Porsche technicians and is perfect for this "hand-on" type of event.

November 15 (Thu):  Third Thursday Meet and Greet Social at the SG
Our astute Social Director, Todd Trimble, organized another nice evening this past Thursday at the SG.  The group was overwhelmed by the size of the appetizers (check out the long plate of nachos in the picture on the lower right corner below).  Smiles, serious discussions, a little cuddling, and great beverages were prevalent all around.

Member Car For Sale
From time-to-time one of our members decide to sell one of their cars.  This week we are proud to display the 1987 911 Carrera Cabriolet of Mort Skoll.  It can be seen up close and personal at Celebrity Cars of Las Vegas or on the web at 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet.   It has just over 77k miles. It has a clean Carfax report with documentation of the mileage.  It has had a repaint in its original silver color.  Everything works and drives like a new car.  We have an entire folder of what looks to be all of the service records from new.  It was purchased new in Palmdale California, moved to Oregon in 2003, and recently to Las Vegas.

Signs from a Seattle gas station with a sense of humor:

Sad news from Minnesota

It is with the saddest heart that I must pass on the following news:

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment & dining community.

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly.  He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.

Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch.  Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.   The grave site was piled high with flours.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes.  Despite being a little flaky at times, he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough; two children John Dough and Jane Dough; plus they had one in the oven.  He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
