Porsche Motorsport continues to celebrate its longstanding motorsport history with a fourth "retro-livery" adorning the pair of current factory-run 911 RSR race cars. Prior to the Rolex 24 at Daytona the Porsche GT Team unveiled the livery created to commemorate both Brumos Racing and IMSA's 50th Anniversary season. The Nos. 911 and 912 will carry the blue and red stripes and "sweeps" made famous by Brumos Racing based in Jacksonville, Florida.

      What Just Happened?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not much, we were all home or out with friends watching the Super Bowl.  However, the Motorsports season kicked-off with the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Bathurst down-under.
Porsche Wet Mode. Factory 911 RSR Earns Wet Rolex 24 Podium.
A strong performance by the Porsche GT Team was rewarded with a third-place on the Rolex 24 At Daytona GTLM class podium. Under a relentless soaking rain that resulted in a record two red flag periods - one of which ended the 57th running of the classic race at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida - the two Porsche 911 RSR racers finished in third- and fifth-place at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener.
Porsche Wins Bathurst 12 Hour for the First Time
Some of the most breathtaking sports car racing of all time took place on Sunday in Australia as the young Aussie Matt Campbell put on an absolute masterclass in the closing hour of the Bathurst 12. After a strong and consistent run by his co-drivers Dirk Werner and Dennis Olson, Campbell took over for the final stint a bit behind the leaders, but on fresher rubber, and put an impressive stamp on Porsche's win docket.
Before we go:
Long-time LVR member-in-spirit  (used to own a Porsche or three but not currently), Al Lindahl recently returned home from a lengthy hospital stay to treat and stabilize his leukemia.  He required many platelet replacements which drew heavily on the supply in the Las Vegas area.  However, a call to our members resulted in a big response to replenish the supply.  Now that things have stabilized, we received the following note to be shared with all members:
THANK YOU MESSAGE FROM AL AND LORENE LINDAHL
I was recently discharged from the hospital where I am being treated for Leukemia. Part of my treatment included blood transfusions.
I have been told that members of the club have donated blood to the hospital in my name.
Lorene and I were surprised that we did not receive any notice of the donations from the hospital.
Please accept my heartfelt thank you for donations made in my name. What better friends can anyone have thathose donating their blood.
Lorene has worked through the hospital bureaucracy to locate the people who are in  charge of the program. She suggested that acknowledgement notes be provided to patients. They received the suggestion with enthusiasm and agreed it could increase future donations.
If the hospital provided me with a list of donors you can be sure I would have thanked you personally. In lieu of that please accept this as thanks for your support during a difficult time.
