MEET THE MEMBERS – THE GODOROVS

Describe your first Porsche. How many have you owned?

Our first Porsche was a 2017 Panamera. It is absolutely one of the best vehicles we have ever owned. The Panamera is what “sealed the deal” for us to be a Porsche family. Since then, we have owned 5 Porsches. We had a 911 and a Cayenne along the way. At one time, there was 4 Porsches in the fleet.

What Porsche do you own? What do you like about it? Any enhancements or modifications?

We currently have a 2017 Macan Base in black and a 2021 Taycan 4 Cross Turismo in neptune blue.

The Macan is our “grocery getter” and travel vehicle for when we go places where it is difficult to park or navigate. The Macan is great on the freeways in California & for parking in tight spaces near the beach. The Macan is like driving a go-cart. Even though it’s a base version, it still has plenty of power for spirited driving and it gets 28 mpg on the freeway. The vehicle is completely stock.

The Taycan is awesome all around. It is a great combination of all the positives of a plug-in electric vehicle and the quality and performance attributes of a Porsche. The car is so refined and well built. Performance in this base version is still impressive. To merge on a freeway on-ramp and have instantaneous torque is incredible. Also, the rarity of the Cross Turismo and the fact that it is neptune blue make it all the more special. The only modification made to the car is paint protection film on the entire hood, front fenders, and mirrors.

What was your first car? Your favorite non-Porsche car you have owned?

Salvi’s first car was a 1978 Datsun pickup. Jordan’s first car was a 1986 Chevy Nova, which was really just a re-badged Toyota Corolla. Salvi’s favorite non-Porsche car is a vehicle we still own – our 2017 Mercedes-Benz G550. Jordan’s favorite non-Porsche car he has owned was his 2002 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4×4.

When and where did you join PCA? Which LVR activities do you enjoy the most?

We joined the club shortly after we purchased our first two Porsches in 2017. We asked Paul Jarrett II at Gaudin Porsche about the club and he said we needed to join. Jordan mostly participates in events with the club, with Salvi and Bryce joining on a ride occasionally. The drives are the best part of being in the club. To drive a Porsche for us is therapy. To enjoy the drives with other club members, share stories, and have the general camaraderie is a wonderful thing

Tell me a little about your education and/or work experiences.

Salvi has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science & a Master’s in Social Work from UNLV. She also has a Doctorate in Social Work from Harris University. She just completed her certificate to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from Northern Arizona University. Salvi was a Children’s Mental Health Therapist for the State of Nevada Department of Child and Family Services for many years until she left to become a stay at home mom. Once our son was diagnosed with Autism at 20 months of age, Salvi was looking for an outlet to escape the stresses of our special needs child. She decided to start a treatment center for children and adults with Autism after not being able to find quality services for our son. In 2013, Salvi started Our Little World Treatment Center. We provide mainly ABA Therapy and psychological testing, but are also set up to provide Mental Health Therapy, Marriage & Family Counseling, Occupational, Speech, and Physical therapies. Salvi is the Owner/Director and soon-to-be another BCBA for the agency.

Jordan has a Bachelor of Science with a major in Business Management from UNLV. He spent a 13 year career in construction, building everything from production & custom homes to utility scale solar plants and commercial & industrial buildings. He retired in 2013 to become a stay at home dad, but re-entered the work force in March of 2014 to become the Business Manager for Our Little World.

Interesting places you have lived?

Both of us were born and raised in Las Vegas. Salvi lived in Panguitch, Utah for a few months back in the 1980’s. From 2011 to 2013, we lived in Lancaster, California commuting back and forth on weekends to our home in Henderson. The beautiful Antelope Valley of California is certainly an interesting place to live.

Interests and hobbies?

Salvi and Bryce love to fish and camp, so a lot of our travels involve going places where we can fish. We are big into Ultimate Fighting (UFC), so you can easily find us on a typical Saturday evening watching the fights. We also are into car collecting. The latest interesting addition to our fleet is a 1972 Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 710M, which we are eagerly awaiting to get back, as it is being mechanically restored by an expert in Southern California.

Anything else?

We look forward to meeting more members and having more fun with the club in the years to come.
