Fun Drive – Recap

Thanks to beyond who showed up for our Gunlock Lake picnic run! We had two groups of cars and enjoyed a beautiful scenic drive through Lake Mead National Park and then up Hwy 91 through some more gorgeous countryside. the day was perfect with a bit of a breeze at the lake it was a really stunning park and the perfect place for our picnic lunch. Special thanks to Jeff Kollin for bringing donuts. (Why do I think that might have been Laura’s idea?😉😂)

We had a good deal of help from our family from the far north in St. George to make it all happen. Craig and Di Shanklin led a small contingency down to Lake Mead to make the drive with us. Doug and Leslie Beck, George and Rosie Paisley arrived at the park at 8:00AM to hold down the pavilion for our group. Also the staff from Gunlock State Park were nothing but helpful and so accommodating. I don’t think things could have been any better unless the temp was 15 degrees cooler but we did just fine in the shade.

Zero incidents, no lost windshields and no interactions with those in law enforcement. What more could we ask for?

We have already decided to replicate the drive in the spring when the waterfalls are at their peak so stay tuned and plan on joining us in the spring. You will not regret it.

Thanks to all,
