A Porsche for Under $50,000? How ‘bout a Porsche for Under $70.00?

By: Jordan Godorov

Back in 2017, Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas ran a great advertising campaign on their YouTube channel. They were offering brand new Porsches for under $50,000. This was unheard of, since most Porsche purchases at that time were hovering around $100,000 & above.

My wife and I purchased a 2017 Macan around that time and were amazed at the great value we received with our vehicle; you got a lot of car for the money.

Fast forward 8 years and the days of a new Porsche under $50,000 are long gone. Fortunately, you can still get a deal on a new Porsche, and it’s less than $70. The down side is that the car is small.

Really small…

This is the Playmobil Toy Company’s latest Porsche-related offering. Playmobil is a company that was started by German inventor Hans Beck in 1974 – the same year that the Las Vegas Region of the Porsche Club of America was founded. According to Wikipedia, “Playmobil has been a major competitor to Lego toys. Examples of directly competing toys in both their product lines are not hard to find. Within the limitations of the Playmobil toy world, the Playmobil toys are usually realistic, and present accurate representations of arms, armor, costumes, and tools from a recognizable time period. Especially notable for their fine attention to detail are the modern construction and city life toys (automobiles, cranes, fire engines, trains, boats, etc.)” Playmobil has collaborated with many marques over the years. Not only Porsche, but available for purchase have been toys from Volkswagen, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, and Mini, to name just a few.

This Playmobil Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 is no exception. According to Playmobil’s website, “This detailed model features extra ground clearance, a front guard, and a roof rack for thrilling off-road experiences. Designed for kids aged 5 and up, this Porsche off-road set comes with a removable roof, space for four figures, and plenty of accessories”. My son and I purchased this model. We had a blast assembling it & enjoy having it on display.

Playmobil has been collaborating with Porsche on toys for years. Here is a photo of all the Playmobil Porsche sets that have been released thus far.

If you are a mom, dad, grandparent, or just a kid a heart, these sets make great gifts for the Porsche car model aficionado in someone. The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Off Road Edition toy is available at your local authorized Porsche dealer. It is also available at Playmobil’s website for $69.99. Stay tuned for more Playmobil Porsche sets in the future.
