FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK – May 2025

April indeed fooled us all by passing in the blink of an eye. It’s amazing how time is moving at light speed these days!

Reid’s April Magical Mystery Tour was a great success, as was the event for everyone from Utah and Arizona. Reid is a master of putting together drives.

Gaudin Porsche:

Henderson Porsche had a bang-up Grand Gala Event on Thursday, April 17th. These people know how to throw down a shindig. Live music, unbelievable food and beverages, and most people dressed for a Broadway premiere. I had one of the best roast beef sandwiches of my life. I was under the weather, but I’m glad I made it to the Gala. It’s good to see our friends enjoying their much-deserved success. Congrats to Paul Jarrett and the team for a fabulous grand opening. The facility is state-of-the-art and stunning. Gary had a few Porsches from the collection there, and everyone is a spectacular example and envy-worthy, to say the least. What a brilliant display of incredible artistry, and thanks to all the ear-to-ear smiles of the guests. All had a brilliant time! If you missed this one, you really missed it.

Tivoli Village Scissors and Scotch:

We had a fun day on Saturday, April 19th, at the Tivoli Village for the Scissors and Scotch grand opening event. We were hoping for at least 25 cars, and we had over 40 cars show up. The weather was perfect. The cars were beautiful, and the live music, food trucks, and free samples kept a smile on everyone’s faces. The event was successful, and they were impressed by the club’s support, leading to our invitation to participate in upcoming events.

Brunch:

We had to cancel the May Brunch due to several conflicts and a busy calendar that created a challenge to get enough people to participate. We will resume in June. Apologies

Club Media:

LVRPCA’s media plan and focus continue to evolve. We continue to focus on expanding our offerings and reaching out more meaningfully and positively. We continue exploring new and different ways to pull broader audiences, specifically younger enthusiasts. The Tivoli event gave us some insight as many of our younger people came, and it was great to see. They are the club’s future; we need their involvement and ideas. If any of our younger members are reading this, please let us know how the club can serve you better and make it more appealing. Some things turn slowly, and the evolution of the club is subject to the effects of a slower development than I would like to see, but we will continue to push the outreach To the younger crowd. I am only old in years. I am still an 18-year-old at heart. If you have thoughts and ideas to aid this objective, please send them to LVRPCA2025@gmail.co.

Desert Drives Contributions:

No, not money! We need people to share their knowledge, experience, and viewpoints via article contributions. Some people have offered to submit periodic items about tech issues and other interesting subjects. If you want to see articles on specific Porsche topics, please get in touch with us and let us know your ideas. A CLUB IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS MEMBERS. We now have over 1000 members. We are not a small group and have unlimited potential to be one of the best clubs on the planet, but we need your help.

As a final note, please consider volunteering for some of our committees. There is always room for more people to help drive new ideas and events. We need our members to be involved and to experience all that the club has to offer, and there is no better way to do it than to get involved with one of our events and help out. It takes a Village!
