The Just One Project

Today members of the LVRPCA board visited The Just One Project. This organization operates under the banner of …..food bank but operates much differently.

This group headed up by CEO Brooke Neubauer and group has been operating for 21 years now. They started with just a small budget and a dream. As of today they distribute to those in need over 6 million pounds of food a year. When you see what they to accomplish that and how they work with their volunteers you cannot help but be deeply moved and more deeply impressed.

We were given the grand tour by Cynthia Lewis.  Cynthia was an exceptionally gracious host for our tour and the more she revealed to us about the organization the more we all became convinced that this is a group we want to help and be involved with.

TJOP is a well rounded and client focused group whose main focus is sourcing fresh foods for those in need of assistance. That is now just one part of what the do. A buried list of what they accomplish in our community:

Not just food but wrap around services

They do everything by By appointment and provide Case Managers for their clients

Home deliveries – 27000 meals a month through the MOW service

200 appointments per month

Car line for those that can pick up their items – First come, first served and it was amazing the  degree of precision that they run this by.

Hot foods in and out in under 24 hours, partnering with the Venetian. 3k of food a day in the hot meal program. They run sock a clean and efficient operation that there is almost not food that goes to waste.

Here is the Mission Statement and other visionary guides that they follow:

Gold Standard

When it comes to serving our community, The Just One Project aims to provide a specific standard throughout our programs.
How would you like your groceries handled?
We value the food we serve our clients, and we do so in a clean, efficient, and respectable way. Our goal is to offer the same service as your favorite local grocer. We ask everyone to be mindful of this standard while serving our friends and neighbors

What is not love about that? If you want to learn more about the group or to get involved as a volunteer or donor check them out at            https://thejustoneproject.org/press/
