FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK – AUGUST 2025

Happy August

Greetings to all you beautiful Porsche people,

We held a Brunch / Member’s Meeting in July and the turnout was nice.

We welcomed back Tamela Kahle and Scott Hatcher to the LVRPCA group.

We reviewed the highlights of what has happened In the first 6 months of the year to include:

Charity events that have been highlighted in the Desert Drives. This was a big change for the group and we are committed to doing more and more charity alliances going forward.

We hosted the largest HPDE in the club’s history with 156 participants. This is the first time that anyone can recall having to cap the participants. This occurred due to extensive outreach to other clubs and closer alliance with other regions in the zone.

We are stretching our connections with other clubs and the SCCA to examine and put on some Autocross events in cooperation with them. This will allow broader participation in driving skill events beyond the HPDEs.

Our financial health is strong. This is allowing us to continue HPDEs and fund other things without worrying about coming up short financially.

The addition of Southern Utah is reaching its final stages with the National Board redrawing not only our boundaries to include Southern Utah but are looking at other Regions and zones in the country that could benefit form what we have achieved. It is hard to put into words what a monumental shift that is. Miami lesson – Never ever say never!

We have hosted monthly Mix and Mingles that have stretched across the Valley making them accessible to more and more members.

Our Winter Gala was one of our best and for once it covered it’s own costs.

We now have total control of our website and planning many upgrades to it over the next five months to make it more user friendly and provide better information with links that take everyone to specific areas of the club so that it is more interactive and productive than it has been in the past.

This is just within the first 6 moths of the year with more to come

All have been accomplished through the efforts of the board and volunteers listed below.

Thanks to those who have stepped and who have assisted us in this effort.

Just a reminder 7 months into the year that we still need more people to support the board with volunteering and chairing certain activities. It takes a village to raise a club as they say. If not for everyone listed and others we would have no events, no drives, no social activities. In essence……NO CLUB. Volunteerism is still an area we need help with. Please consider volunteering to help the club reach its goals.
