🏁 Shifting into Spring: Track Days, Tours, and Club Gatherings
Greetings to our wonderful Porsche family!
The year is already off to a fantastic start, and it’s hard to believe we’re nearing the end of the first quarter of 2026. February brought plenty of activity for the club, with everything from track time to planning upcoming tours and drives. As always, it’s inspiring to see so many members getting out, enjoying their cars, and sharing the experience with fellow enthusiasts. The calendar ahead is packed with great events, and there is something for everyone whether you enjoy the thrill of the track, a scenic tour, or simply gathering with friends over coffee and great cars.
HPDE
We kicked off the year with our first High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) event on February 21–22, and it was a fantastic success. Our team continues to run a truly first-class operation, and the positive feedback from participants has been tremendous.
If you have never attended an HPDE event, I strongly encourage you to give it a try at least once this year. I managed to get out for a couple of sessions myself before other commitments pulled me away, but every lap reminds me how much there is to learn. Each time you head out on the track, your skills improve, your confidence grows, and you come away with a deeper understanding of your car.
And the best part? Those car control skills carry over into everyday driving, which can be incredibly helpful when navigating the wonderfully unpredictable traffic we encounter in our daily commutes.
Tours
Our resident master tour planner, Reid, is already hard at work mapping out several exciting tours for the year ahead. If his past tours are any indication, we’re in for some memorable drives and spectacular scenery.
We also have a special surprise tour planned for September. For now, that’s all the information I’m allowed to share. Trust me, revealing any more might lead to my sudden and mysterious disappearance!
Day Drives
March brings us two excellent Day Drive opportunities.
Our legendary Topock Drive returns on March 14th. This is one of our most popular runs, and for good reason. If you plan to attend, be sure to register early before the spots fill up.
Then on March 28th, we’ll head out to Gunlock Reservoir. Our previous drive there was such a great experience that we decided it deserved an encore. Keep an eye on the registration page as sign-ups will be opening soon.
Charity
Giving back remains an important part of our club’s mission. We continue to support a variety of charitable causes through volunteer efforts and fundraising activities. In fact, we had the pleasure of presenting checks to several of our beneficiary organizations just last month. You can find more details about these efforts later in the Drives section.
Chef William’s Red Rock Motor Club
Our very own Chef William hosts the Red Rock Motor Club gathering on the first Monday of each month at Red Rock Country Club.
This relaxed get-together begins at 5:00 p.m. and always draws a great group of enthusiasts along with a wonderful selection of cars. Food and beverages are available for purchase in the clubhouse, making it a perfect way to spend an early evening surrounded by good company and great automobiles.
Cars und Kaffee
Our monthly Cars und Kaffee event takes place on the last Sunday of each month and consistently attracts an outstanding crowd of automotive enthusiasts.
One of the best parts of this gathering is the incredible variety of vehicles that show up. Alongside our Porsches, we often see Italian exotics, British sports cars, Japanese GT-Rs, classic American muscle cars, off-road machines, and even vintage motorcycles.
The event runs from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Good Wolf parking lot at Imperial Street and Commerce in the Arts District. Coffee is available for purchase, and the atmosphere is always lively and welcoming.
Espresso and Exotics
We are also excited to highlight another excellent gathering: Espresso and Exotics.
This event takes place on the second Sunday of each month, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at Mothership Coffee at The Bend, located at 8740 W. Sunset Rd., Unit F-150.
It’s a fantastic event organized by a great group of enthusiasts, many of whom are fellow Porsche owners. The combination of great cars, great coffee, and great people makes it well worth adding to your calendar.
See You on the Road
As always, our club thrives because of the enthusiasm and participation of our members. Whether you join us on the track, on a scenic drive, at a coffee gathering, or at one of our social events, it’s the people that make this community so special.
We look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming events, sharing great conversations, beautiful cars, and the joy that comes from getting out and driving them the way they were meant to be enjoyed.
Until then, drive safely and we’ll see you down the road.
