MEET THE MEMBERS – SHEER BEAUMONT

By Ingo Scheer and Claudia Beaumont

At the age of 16 Ingo talked his father into buying a 1960 356 Super 90 which he still drives with his father when he is in Germany. After living several years in San Diego and test driving, i.e., a 1985 911 Carrera, a 1987 911 Turbo Targa, and a 1987 911 Carrera, Ingo and Claudia purchased their first Porsche, a 1995 993 Carrera 2, and several month later a 1965 356 Coupe. Their last addition is a 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera MFI (Euro Carrera) also known as G model RS which was imported from Germany in 2022. The cars offer different driving experiences. The 356 is a very light car which fascinates through its handling and the cornering abilities while the 911 Carrera MFI is a blast to drive thanks to the immediate throttle response and nimble handling. The 993 Carrera 2 which is the last of the air-cooled Porsches features an excellent engine combined with a very capable suspension.

Claudia received a Maserati 250F Child Car from her grandfather which kindled her interest in classic cars. When she met Ingo in Saarlouis, Germany they drove a Triumph TR4, which Ingo restored completely and is still fun to drive. They both studied in Germany and have engineering degrees. Claudia moved to Munich to continue her studies while Ingo worked as a design engineer near Brescia where the famous open-road, motorsport endurance race Mille Miglia starts. During this time, they went to classic car events In Italy and Germany. After working in Germany for several years, they founded their own company specializing in medical device equipment and biomaterials.

In San Diego they attended various Porsche Club of America and 356 Club of Southern California events and joined Las Vegas PCA end of 2018 after moving to Henderson. In their free time they love to go to car meetings in Las Vegas including the Autofest and Cars und Kaffee as well as to drives and social gatherings such as the Christmas party, Sunday brunch, and the cooking class. They enjoy outdoor activities, including running, swimming, mountain biking, and motorcycling and have a passion for art and music (Ingo is a high-fidelity sound enthusiast who loves to work on vintage turntables and amplifiers besides on classic cars).

They would like to thank the Las Vegas PCA for organizing all these fun events and look forward to meet people who would love to share their experience with various Porsches and, in particular with 964 RS, 993 RS, and 991.2 GT3 6-Speed.
