PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA – A SEVENTY-YEAR ROMANCE IN THE USA

Seventy years ago, a group of Porsche enthusiasts in North America came together to form what would become the Porsche Club North America (PCNA). Since its inception, the club has grown exponentially and now boasts a membership of over 100,000 Porsche owners and enthusiasts. The official date falls 4 days after my 71st birthday. Ironic in a way. I have been a Porsche loyalist since I can remember. It has been a wonderful ride and an awesome relationship. We were estranged for a few years but now that we are back together? Well i am sure that this time it is till death do we part!

In the early days, the club was a small, tight-knit community of Porsche owners who shared a passion for the iconic German sports cars. They organized local events, track days, and social gatherings to connect with fellow Porsche enthusiasts and share their love for the brand.

Over the years, the club expanded its reach and influence, becoming a driving force in the Porsche community in North America. They organized larger events, such as the annual Porsche Parade, which brings together thousands of Porsche owners from across the continent for a week-long celebration of all things Porsche.

The PCNA has also been instrumental in promoting the Porsche brand and heritage in North America. They have worked closely with Porsche AG to organize special events, rallies, and races that showcase the performance and craftsmanship of Porsche vehicles. Werks Reunion, and many other Porsche-centric events across North America draw more and more people to the brand. Porsche has a universal appeal. Easy to approach, somewhat affordable compared to a lot of other brands, and reliability that is hard to beat (my 2009 Carrera S has 128,000 miles on it and runs as strong today as it did when it was new, looks nowhere near what you might imagine a very high-mileage car would look like, and I never get tired of spending time behind the wheel in it).

In addition to organizing events, the PCNA has also been active in giving back to the community. They have partnered with various charities and organizations to raise money for important causes, such as supporting children’s hospitals and disaster relief efforts.

Today, the Porsche Club North America continues to thrive, thanks to the dedication and passion of its members. They remain committed to preserving and promoting the Porsche brand in North America, and their impact on the Porsche community is undeniable.

The Porsche Club North America has come a long way in the past 70 years. What started as a small group of Porsche enthusiasts has grown into a thriving community of  members who share a common love for the iconic German sports cars. Through their events, partnerships, and charitable work, the PCNA has made a lasting impact on the Porsche community in North America. The Porsche Club of North America has a rich history of bringing together Porsche enthusiasts from all walks of life. As one of the largest and most active Porsche clubs in the world, it has become a driving force in promoting the Porsche brand and fostering a sense of community among its members. But what does the future hold for the club in the next 70 years?

Looking ahead, it is clear that the Porsche Club of North America will continue to thrive and grow in the coming decades. With a strong and dedicated membership base, the club is well-positioned to attract new members and expand its reach across North America. As the Porsche brand continues to evolve and innovate, the club will play a vital role in connecting enthusiasts with the latest models and technologies.

In the next 70 years, we can expect to see the Porsche Club of North America continue to host a wide range of events and activities for its members. From track days and driving tours to social gatherings and tech sessions, the club will provide countless opportunities for enthusiasts to come together and share their passion for Porsche. With the rise of digital technologies, we may also see the club embrace new online platforms and virtual events to connect with members across the continent. I think we can all see the group growing considerably stronger than its current over 100,000 members.

As the automotive industry shifts towards electric and autonomous vehicles, the Porsche Club of North America will undoubtedly adapt to these changes. While traditional Porsche models will always have a place in the hearts of enthusiasts, the club may also embrace new technologies and trends in the industry. This could include organizing events focused on electric vehicles or partnering with Porsche to showcase the latest innovations in autonomous driving.

In the next 70 years, the Porsche Club of North America will continue to be a driving force in promoting the Porsche brand and fostering a sense of community among enthusiasts. With a dedicated membership base, a passion for all things Porsche, and a commitment to innovation and growth, the club is well-positioned to thrive in the decades to come. As we look towards the future, we can be confident that the Porsche Club of North America will continue to be a vibrant and dynamic community for Porsche enthusiasts across North America.
