Greetings to all our wonderful members.

June flew by, like most months do when you reach my age. That being said, a lot of great things took place.

We continue to host Mix and Mingles every month. Do not miss a chance to attend. Now that I am through with crazy travel for my business, I will be attending as many as I can. They are a great way to meet other members and members of the Board of Directors to share your ideas directly and to ask the many questions about what the board does, how we go about making decisions, and any other club questions you may have. We change up the locations each and every month to provide an opportunity for people all across the valley and to make it more accessible to all. I look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming events.

There were awesome drives and wonderful [...]

Every year Porsche hosts the annual reunion in Monterey California. It is one of the best events of the year and it is relatively close to us here in Las Vegas. I have made the trip every year for the past four years and this year will be no exception.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the show for me is that Werks Reunion was created by the Porsche Club of America as an event to celebrate both the Porsche marque as well as the camaraderie of being an enthusiast. This is not a contest of who has removed dust from the deepest crevices in their Porsche but rather a judged show that rewards a Porsche that has been lovingly maintained and presents itself well on the field. The judges do not use Porsche Parade Concours score sheets but rather rank the cars according to certain attributes discussed prior to judging. For those who [...]

Another month down as May has left us in the rear view mirror. Unfortunately for many who do not particularly enjoy the heat Summer is arriving and as I write this the forecast is for a smooth 100 degrees. Get ready for it. I am a cold weather person and the scorching heat of the summer does not match my biological makeup. That being said for those who enjoy it get the most out of it by joining us for many of the coming summer events.

Werks Reunion:

We are three months away from the annual Werks Reunion in Monterey California. Check out the story on the event in this months Drives.

Brunch:

We had to cancel the May Brunch but we are back on for June. You. May already have seen the blast so please sign up and join us. It is a great way to meet people and share the camaraderie that is [...]

April indeed fooled us all by passing in the blink of an eye. It’s amazing how time is moving at light speed these days!

Reid’s April Magical Mystery Tour was a great success, as was the event for everyone from Utah and Arizona. Reid is a master of putting together drives.

Gaudin Porsche:

Henderson Porsche had a bang-up Grand Gala Event on Thursday, April 17th. These people know how to throw down a shindig. Live music, unbelievable food and beverages, and most people dressed for a Broadway premiere. I had one of the best roast beef sandwiches of my life. I was under the weather, but I’m glad I made it to the Gala. It’s good to see our friends enjoying their much-deserved success. Congrats to Paul Jarrett and the team for a fabulous grand opening. The facility is state-of-the-art and stunning. Gary had a few Porsches from the collection there, and everyone is a [...]

I am always very curious as to what drew people to their first Porsche ownership experience?

For me it started the year I finished college at the tender young age of 26. (I waited till I was 22 to start). I had started a decent paying job and at the time I was driving a 1974 BMW 2002, It was a wonderful car and I have thought many times about purchasing another for vintage type events but at that age the lure of a Porsche was stronger than my desire to keep the BMW 2002.

That desire started in 1959 when I saw my first Speedster at a local SCCA auto cross. My parents were racers. Mostly English cars such as the Triumph TR3s of various years. Up to the TR4 when they decided they had enough and stopped racing. That being said I will never forget this beautiful silver Speedster with red interior and [...]

    Red Rock Country Club

    January 19, 2025

A big thank you for everyone who came to the Gala this past Sunday. The venue was moved to Red Rock Country Club and Chef William and the staff treated us like Royalty.

The great thing was that we reduced the cost this year and were able to have the revenue from the participants covered the cost and we did not have to supplement the event as we have [...]

Many of you may well know already that our friends to the North in St. George have now migrated to our region. this is something I have dreamed about since my first drive to the St. George Cars and Coffee at Tuachan Canyon.

The people up north are warm friendly and very inviting. Since my first event with them I have talked with Craig Shanklin and Ken Hollman about accomplishing this dream. Reid, myself the two of them have chased this diligently for 3 years and now it is coming to fruition.

I for one could not be happier with this [...]
