From the President’s Desk,

Well, the year is wrapping up and I’m reminiscing on our accomplishments for 2022. We entered the year without a newsletter or a functioning website. A special thanks to Interpolnik (John Polnik-JP, and Mike Patriquin) for an absolutely first-class Desert Drives newsletter. A shoutout goes to Alex Harbison and his team for such a quality website. All are LVRPCA members! While our successful activities are too long to list here, I do want to especially thank all of our volunteers for their hours and days of planning and carrying out these events. Our club is alive and well!

Our AFTER-HOLIDAY DINNER PARTY will take place at the M Resort on January 22nd. Some may wonder why our activity calendar listed it as December 18th until it was switched a couple of months ago. I originally booked the dinner last Spring. The backstory: I called into the M Resort to get a room reservation. The clerk took some time finding an opening and happily reported he could book me a room for $378 for the night! Wow! I asked him what else was happening. It appears there is a LV Raiders game that day and they were basically sold out. I called the banquet schedulers and they were more than happy to switch us to January. My room came to a little over $100. Registration is now open. See the article below or check the activity calendar.

Now for the sad news: My Boxster S Black Edition was tragically murdered on the 215. Traffic was coming to a near stop and I slowed down (not a panic stop). When I looked in my mirror, I saw a Jeep bearing down on us at high speed (she said she was doing 75). It was a helpless feeling. Dana is still working with some issues, but I am fine. People have usually seen me driving the Boxster and ask why I’m driving the Carrera now. It’s because my heart and soul of the Porsche world is dead. I loved that car. Vital organs will be saved and transplanted. I’ll look for a replacement next Spring after the grieving period ends. R.I.P.

Happy Holidays to all, and hope to see you at our events!
