From the President’s Desk,

It is an understatement to say that March was a busy month. I am writing this a day after our Valley of Fire Drive with members from three PCA regions: Arizona, Intermountain and Las Vegas. I was contacted by the Arizona region in December and we put together an eventful two days culminating with a drive to the Valley of Fire State Park. We had 61 cars signed up for the event but only about half participated, probably due to the rainy forecast. Or it was because there was delays for hours on the 215 Beltway due to some major accidents (I was stuck in traffic so can attest to the delay). Anyway, the rain let up and everyone enjoyed the beautiful scenery. A big shout-out to our LVR volunteers who did an exceptional job of organizing the drive while I was “parked” on the 215.

Our first HPDE at Spring Mountain Motorsports Raceway was well attended and a huge success. Our next track event will take place May 27-28^th and will include a school for first time tracksters. Come to a safe venue where you can begin to learn your Porsche’s capabilities. Registration details will be available soon.

Our Tech Session at Gloss It Detailing was very informative. We were limited to 30 attendees and wish we could have been able to accommodate more. A special thanks to Peter and Jackie George for organizing the session and arranging for Pink Box donuts and coffee.

Spring Mountain Motorsports Raceway is on the circuit for a weekend of Porsche Sprint Challenge racing, April 21-23. This will be a great opportunity to see all-Porsche racing! Check out the article in this issue of Desert Drives for information. I’m sure I will see many club members enjoying this race weekend.

Our annual Spring Picnic Honoring New Members will take place May 13^th at Mountain Crest County Park. All members are invited to enjoy some great food and friendship as well as learn of club activities and meet new members.
