I hope that you are beating heat and staying cool this summer. As I write this, Dana and I are spending the week in Palm Springs while attending the PCA Porsche Parade. Yes, I’m sure it is warmer than Las Vegas, but we can take 100 degrees with a little sweat. When gathering the names of LVR attendees I was amazed at the number of members I had never met before! So, we planned a “Starlight Winedown” for our region members and friends. It was great to see many of the 38 members that attended the Parade, and meet some for the first time. Memorial Day weekend was very busy for the club. We ran our three-day High Performance Driver’s Education event at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch. The weather cooperated with some ideal temps and everything went smoothly. If you missed it, see our activity calendar for our October and November dates. A special thanks to Michael Myers and Brian Schmidt for running such a successful event. Also, a special thanks to our club volunteers for their time and energy at the track.

Taking a break from the track, Dana and I attended the St. George to Kanab Tour that weekend. Craig Shanklin and crew from Southern Utah organized an enjoyable event with a Saturday night dinner and Sunday drive which included a BBQ lunch. At the end of the event, we stopped for wine tasting at a winery in Hilldale UT. Coming up we have tours planned for August and September. The SoCal Museum Tour will be August 10-13^th. The Yosemite High Sierra Tour will take place September 5-8^th. Check out the details in this issue of Desert Drives and JOIN US!
