MALOOF COLLECTION PART 2 Recap

By Reid Smith

We had scheduled a tour of the Phil Maloof Car Collection last October and we quickly sold out the 25 slots that we were allotted. I asked Danny Barnett, the tour guide, if we could schedule another visit in a few months. Danny agreed, and we again sold out our 25 slots for the February 25th tour in a hurry.  Those who attended were not disappointed. Treated to pastries, the tour of about 100 cars in a dozen garages began.

Over the next two hours we were wowed by this eclectic collection. I surmised that Phil Maloof did not necessarily curate the collection for public consumption as much as cars that he enjoyed. Many cars were of US manufacturing from the 1940’s through the 70’s, but there were many other autos that were just unique and cool.

Tired of looking at cars? You could spend time perusing the hundreds of movie posters and other paraphernalia on the walls.

We were told that Phil Maloof was the happiest man on earth when he was with his treasures. I, for one, completely agree!
