FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK – May 2024

From the President’s Desk,

Due to deadlines, I am writing to you two days after our big 50th Extravaganza blowout. Our Board and volunteers put in months of planning for this once in a lifetime event and I am so proud of the outcome.

We had over 250 members sign up for the Extravaganza and we also hit our limit of 100 for the Mt. Charleston Drive. We had perfect weather for the morning and the display of Porsches was something to behold. I want to not only thank our dedicated volunteers, but to personally thank Gary Ackerman, Paul Jarrett and their professional crew at Gaudin Porsche for offering the venue and assisting with the event. We are lucky to have what has become an increasingly rare family-owned dealership that truly cares about us local Porsche enthusiasts and considers us as part of the family!

We are planning a three-day, two-night tour to Southern Utah, May 13-15th. We selected this time of year for the trip to hopefully have less tourists to contend with, because anytime during the summer visitors can be crawling over each other to see the beautiful Utah sites!

Also, we will have our second High Performance Drivers Education weekend of year, taking place May 18-19th, at Spring Mountain Motorsport Raceway in Pahrump. We have run groups from beginning to advanced. Our goal is to teach you skills that will be beneficial as you experience your Porsche’s incredible capabilities in a safe environment. No one wants to injure their pride and joy! Not sure about committing to a full weekend but want see what it’s all about? Sign up for Taste of the Track for that Sunday. One of our professional instructors will orient you to the track with some laps.
