Dana and I were glad to finally be able to attend our October monthly brunch, after missing a number of them over our busy Summer. The guest speakers have been fantastic. A big thank you to Lynda Colucci for finding such interesting leaders in our community to spend a Sunday morning sharing their experiences and projects with us.

October brunch featured Jay Vickers, who is the Chief Operating Officer for UNLV’s Sports Innovation Institute. He explained the many facets of sport science and sport business in providing cutting edge solutions to the challenges that drive the future of sports. As we know, Las Vegas has turned into a professional and collegiate sports hub. UNLV has developed this institute to educate students to effectively gain employment in the many fields of sports science and business.

When you read this newsletter, our November 3^rd Brunch and F 1/10^th race will have taken place. We have a goal of raising $6000 for the students at UNLV School of Engineering and Science for purchasing a race track for the Autonomous Racing program. We are well on our way to meeting that goal! We will have a recap of the fundraising event in our December Desert Drives.
