Marina and Brian have the Las Vegas Region of PCA to thank for bringing them together; they met at a PCA event and Brian invited Marina to join him at the next week’s HPDE event.  That’s all it took as they realized they both have a need for speed and love being at racetracks.  They were married later that year with a Porsche themed wedding.  At about the time of the wedding Porsche ran ads that said “Choose Thrilling”, which got painted on the garage wall.

Although they have been long-time Las Vegas residents, they had another connection since they were both born in Iowa and still visit family there.

Brian’s Porsche interest started long ago through his sports car enthusiast Uncle.  For three years he made Brian “babysit” his 911 with the requirement that the car must be driven at least once a week.  Wow, was that a tough assignment!

AT NATIONAL CONCOURS

By Dave Sunderhaft

Our ‘92 968 Cabriolet was awarded 2nd place in Class at the National Porsche Parade Concours.  The Class consisted of 924s, 968s, 944s and 968s judged for Preservation. The Preservation Classes at Concours are judged based on originality, use, and presentation. Parade concours also has classes for Restoration and Presentation. Unlike those classes where judging is done on a demerit point system, Preservation is judged more subjectively comparing totality of one car’s originality, use, and preparation against the others in the class.

Our 968 fell a bit short in originality in that it lacked the original radio and the locking lug nuts.

As to Use, the winner was a 924. It was an original family-owned car from new that included pictures of the presenter detailing the car when he was 7 years old. While we have owned our car for 9 years and have driven it over 20,000 miles, [...]

Hi, my name is Harris Schwartz, and I am a new member of the LV Porsche Club, but certainly not new to Porsche. I think I am on my 4th Porsche now, and currently driving a special “edition” spec car – 2023 911 Carrera S with some special equipment you would never find on any non-GT car. My car operates and drives and performs as a GT car. It is my all time favorite. Of course, if you asked my husband (Dat), he loves it too, but he loves his GT2 RS even better. I fell in love with Porsche once my husband bought his original.

My first ever car was a 1974 Plymouth Duster in Fire Engine Red. It was a great, solid car for that time. The only other vehicle that I really enjoyed was a Toyota Tundra in Forest Green color.

I joined PCA in 2022 officially. I have been enjoying the [...]
