My first and only Porsche is a 2012 Carrera GTS (997.2) that is the end of an era.  The 991’s were about to arrive in dealerships only a couple of months after I purchased the 997.2.  Since I wasn’t interested in being an early adopter of the next generation, I was more than happy to get the GTS.

Southern Utah is becoming famous for great crowds at our Porsche Cars and Coffee events. All Porsche owners are invited to join us for “Cars and Coffee” on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10:00am to 1:00pm (Mountain Daylight Time). We will have a Porsche section of the parking lot at: Tuacahn Amphitheatre, Tuacahn Saturday Market (1100 Tuacahn Drive, Ivins, UT. 84738) This will again be a regional event and we expect vehicles from every part of Southern Utah and Southern Nevada. Come join the fun! We are planning an optional drive to experience some area roads after the event.
LVR Memo:We are planning a LVRPCA drive to Tuacahn. There will be no organized drive for the return trip.

 Don Klahre is a 20-year PCA member, having owned 5 Porsches during that time.  After a long career in finance and investments, he is a founding director of Ampicity, Inc. — an EV charging company.  Ampicity is developing a nationwide network of battery-driven EV chargers.  Don will discuss the ICE to EV conversion industry-wide, with a focus on Porsche’s leadership and forthcoming EV models.

SEPTEMBER 5-8th, 2023

Mark your calendar for our Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite and Tonopah LVR/PCA member tour. This will be a three-night event that promises to be exciting, with inspiring roads and beautiful scenery. We will travel from Las Vegas to Mammoth Lakes, CA, where we will spend 2 nights, giving everyone time to visit Yosemite National Park and the surrounding Mammoth Lakes area. Marina and Brian have the Las Vegas Region of PCA to thank for bringing them together; they met at a PCA event and Brian invited Marina to join him at the next week’s HPDE event.  That’s all it took as they realized they both have a need for speed and love being at racetracks.  They were married later that year with a Porsche themed wedding.  At about the time of the wedding Porsche ran ads that said “Choose Thrilling”, which got painted on the garage wall. 

Although they have been long-time Las Vegas residents, they had another connection since they were both born in Iowa and still visit family there.

Brian’s Porsche interest started long ago through his sports car enthusiast Uncle.  For three years he made Brian “babysit” his 911 with the requirement that the car must be driven at least once a week.  Wow, was that a tough assignment!
