Wow! What a Porsche day in Southern Utah!  We had a great showing for the Show and Shine and Porsche Car Show…so many attendees…several hundred if you count all the shoppers at the Tuacahn Market on Saturday, April 22nd. Such great exposure for PCA and Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas.

I can’t say enough about the whole Gaudin team that came to Tuacahn! Wow! so much fun, so hard working and so professional. They impressed everyone. They answered so many owner questions…and Steve has convinced me I NEED an air-cooled! Also, the prizes were so generous and so appreciated by all of our winners!

There were so many great stories today…but here is just one. A couple, Ken and Betty Hollman, moved to St. George from Reno where they had been active with the Sierra Nevada PCA region for years…both serving as President. They sold their Porsches prior to moving [...]

Our Las Vegas Region club members were out in force for the Porsche Sprint races that were held at Spring Mountain Motorsports Raceway on April 21-23rd. We had great weather as we cheered for Premier 1 Race Team with club member Michael Londo driving the #111 in the Porsche GT3 991 class. The team and driver were well prepared for this first outing as they continue to compete in the Yokohama Sprint Challenge USA West series this year. A big shout-out to Kent Moore, Sam Weber, Amy Roberts-Moore and the rest of the team for their hospitality during the event!

I drive a 2017 911 S, with the Sports package, in silver with Bordeaux Red leather.  It is my first Porsche, although I wanted one since I saw the Porsche Can-Am race cars in the 1970s.  I love everything about my 911, especially the handling and acceleration, thanks to the twin turbos.  I relax as soon as I sit in the car and close the door.

This spring, I have a 24-day road trip planned through 14 Western states, traversing the mountains and Pacific Coast Highway, where I will get to enjoy the great Porsche engineering.  I grew up in the New York City area and have lived in 9 states. By the end of my road trip, I will have visited every state except Alaska.  There are wonderful people throughout our country.

I just joined PCA, following my retirement in December 2022.  I worked for many years in corporate marketing and strategic planning.  For [...]

Have you ever been to Atomic Motors? If you have not, here is a chance for a guided tour of the five buildings in the complex. We will get to view the process that results in top level restorations on autos and motorcycles. They are well known for their paint and machine shops. Do you need fabrication, upholstery or detailing? They’ve got it! It can also be classified as a unique museum and art show. At the end of the tour, we will be treated with hotdogs and sodas!

There is no charge for the tour. Please register by noon on Wednesday, May 17th, so they can plan for us.

In March, 2000, I was involved with a group of 40 people (14 Americans and the rest Europeans) put together by Porsche Travel, to test drive the new Porsche 996 Turbo.  After a private tour of the Porsche plant and museum in Stuttgart the first morning, they flew us down the 1,500 miles from Stuttgart to Jerez, Spain, where Porsche had leased the ex-F1 race track for debut of the new 996 Turbo to the world.  Our group was at the tail-end of a month-long parade of journalists, Porsche dealers, VIP’s, and others in the automotive world who came to review, test, and write about  the new Turbo model.

The hotel we stayed at was adjacent to the Jerez race track, which made it convenient for access to our track activities which included some 30-996 Turbos along with other competitor models (Ferrari, Mercedes, Dodge Viper).  Half of the Turbos had the Tiptronic [...]
