High Performance Driver’s Education
May 27-28th, 2023
By Michael Myers, HPDE Chair
Registration is now open for the LVR/PCA’s High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) event at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. The event will take place on May 27-28th and will feature the long course on the newly designed Charleston Peak Track, which is approximately half a mile longer than the previous “north course” that was run at the November event.
New drivers will have the opportunity to participate in a full Driver’s School, while experienced drivers will have access to instructors to help improve their skills. The track map with passing zones has been attached for participants to familiarize themselves with the layout. Charleston Peak full course with passing zones.pdf
One important change to note for 2023 is that participants must select their lunch options during the registration process. It is important to pay close attention while registering to ensure [...]

A number of club members attended a Tech Session on detailing at Gloss It Design & Detailing Center, on March 11th. We learned about techniques and products for keeping our Porsches in Concours quality. As Rich, the Center’s owner and presenter told us “you will never be the same with caring for your car after this session”. He was right!
A special “thank you” to club members Peter and Jackie George, for organizing and providing coffee and delicious Pink Box donuts for the event.

- Comments Off on AZPCA – IRPCA – LVRPCA BLAST!
We were the host of a multi-Region drive to the Valley of Fire State Park that included members of Arizona, Southern Utah and Las Vegas Regions on March 21St. Our plans for the drive changed rapidly on that Tuesday morning as the rainy forecast caused great concern. I had planned to be at the meetup location at 7:00am to get everything organized by the 8:00am call time. Leaving home at 6:15am, Dana and I were not aware of three major accidents on the 215 Beltway. After sitting in traffic for a couple of hours, we finally arrived at 8:35am! Luckily, we had an excellent team of club volunteers who had everything organized with cars lined up, so were able to get the paperwork done and started moving at 8:45am. A special thanks to our team for all they did!
A total of 61 cars had signed up, but only half that number actually arrived, most [...]

IN ST. GEORGE!
By Reid Smith
Some of us climbed out of bed at 0’Dark Hundred on February 18th to drive St. George for coffee and pastries. We have joined with the Southern Intermountain Region PCA group a number of times over the past year.
We were blessed with cool but sunny conditions that morning. As 64 Porsches arrived, members headed to the Farmstead Bakery and selected from an array of pastries, sandwiches and coffee. A special thanks to Craig Shanklin and his crew for keeping everything organized. And thanks for inviting us!
