In 2014, I finally decided on a 987 Boxster RS60 Spyder (6 speed manual) as my 1st Porsche.  I have had it to countless HPDE events, and it’s been an absolutely wonderful car, and I still have it! Then I bought a 997 C2S convertible (6 speed manual) and a 986 Boxster (5 speed manual) for my wife Linzy.  She’s had her Boxster at an HPDE event as well.

We sold the 911 & Linzy’s Boxster to make room for an Audi R8 (6 speed manual), but I don’t think I’ll ever sell the RS60.  It is so much fun, 100% reliable, and with a frunk AND trunk it actually carries a lot of groceries! I changed to a later style Boxster S wheel, and I modified the sport exhaust, so it [...]

Jed, Jayne and Benay Weintraub

Our first Porsche was a 2018 Silver Cayman. Porsche is the only vehicle we have owned since moving to Las Vegas.

Currently, we own three Porsche. Jayne’s car – 2018 Cayman. Benay’s car – 2019 Macan S. My car – 2022 Panamara GTS. We previously owned a 2018 Porsche 4S. The Panamara GTS has a smooth power curve, great torque and roominess for four passengers. What’s not to like about this car with no modifications or enhancements.

My first car was a 1983 Ford Bronco. Jayne’s first car was a 1973 Firebird. Benay’s first [...]

Phil’s first Porsche was a 1964 901, which he thought was the same as a 356. He had previously driven and fallen head over heels for a 1961 356 coupe, which, luckily, a Porsche-knowledgeable friend pointed out, before he bought it, was totally rusted out below the door handles. This was in Baltimore for heaven’s sake. They use salt on the roads in wintertime.

Phil then came across the 901, in 1966, and he bought it, not knowing the difference between a 356 and a 911. He [...]

My first Porsche was a very special one; a 1965 911 GP white/Black tex only option chrome wheels and it even had the teak dash radio cover with gold 911 on it.  This was in 1970 and it only had 2K miles with the threshold plastic on it. I kept it for about 8 years and sold it with less than 10K miles on it — hope it’s still the pristine car it was!

I’ve owned too many Porsches to remember, perhaps 25-30 who knows. I currently own “only” 2 a ’73 Carrera RS 2.7 lt.wt. & a ’23 911 Turbo S cabriolet wht.mt. & lipstick but just sold a Macan [...]

My first Porsche was a 2020 Cayenne with Carrera White paint and blue/chalk interior. I have owned three Porsches to date: a base Cayenne, Cayenne Coupe, and now my 718 GTS 4.0. My latest car, the 718 GTS 4.0, is painted in Shark Blue with Black/Chalk interior and Shark Blue seat belts. My favorite thing about owning this car is the naturally aspirated flat six engine.

Initially, I intended to buy a BMW M5 Competition, but after certain factors took place at the dealership, I went to the Porsche dealership in Las Vegas, where I was immediately treated like family. Over the years of buying Porsches from Gaudin Porsche, the service continues to amaze me. I currently am a pilot for American Airlines with a degree in Aeronautical Science, traveling the world flying [...]

A year ago, I purchased my first Porsche; a 2022 992 Carrera so I’m a new member to PCA having joined here in Las Vegas. I’ve been a BMW enthusiasts the last 20 years and all it took was a test drive in one of my good friend’s 911 and I was hooked. The entire feel, handling and acceleration of the car was exhilarating, and I knew immediately it was time for a change. I was also impressed with the sound from the exhaust and the pronunciation of the decibel changes with each change. I love the color which is chalk. Other features are the full moon/sunroof, Porsche logoed headrest in the seats, upgraded gas cap, premium sound system. I’ve made a few simple modifications; suspension lowering including wheel spacers to accentuate the bold wheelbase features as well as added wind deflectors to both driver and passenger side windows to reduce wind noise.

Hello, we are Martha and Randy Burba, members of the Las Vegas Porsche Club. We love being members, we love living in Las Vegas, and we love the amazing people in the Porsche club. Our first Porsche was a 2010 Boxster. It was blue with a beige interior. We lived in California at the time, and it was nice driving it up and down PCH by the ocean and up to Pismo Beach.

We both retired from law enforcement in California and are so happy to be permanent residents of Nevada. We currently have two Porsches in the family; I [...]

Hi, I’m Michael Dugan. I’ve been a member of PCA and LVR for 9 years. Needless to say, I am car person. I know I date myself by telling you that as a kid I clipped out car pictures each fall as new models were announced. I had envelopes full. At 8 I knew the model of each car Detroit produced and would point out the cars, ad nauseum, when with friends. Remember the push button transmission? The brand-new T-Bird? The turbine powered Chrysler? The Jaguar XKE introduction?

My first introduction to Porsche was by Bob Holbrook (one of the first Porsche dealers in the US). Look but don’t touch those cars. My first drive in a Porsche was in a 1990 Turbo. It was driven by a madman who loved to race the freeways of the Bay Area at 100+ mph. (Scared me to the point I avoided the idea of buying one).

Finally, [...]

While my High School classmates in the 70’s were buying used Mustangs or Camaros as their first car mine was a Red 1966 Volkswagen Beetle 1300. 50HP of fun and simple enough to fix most anything that broke. Later I “upgraded” to a 1972 Super Beetle, all of 15HP increase but it was yellow so that made it faster. I have been hooked on German cars since.

I favor older cars and  have owned a number of Audi’s, Mercedes, and Porsche’s over the years. Not a collector, never had the money or room, more that I get bored and changed cars often. The only new car I purchased was a 2000 Audi TT taking delivery of one of the first cars to reach the US. Not the fastest but very nimble and turned heads when it first launched. It was my daily driver for a number of years.

My first “weekend car” [...]

Jim Roal joined the PCA in 2004 shortly after buying his first Porsche, a 1987 944S.  About a year later he met the president of the Lincoln Trail PCA (the region where he lived at the time) and mentioned that the website was out-of-date.  On the spot the president made him the webmaster for the region.  During the time Jim was in Illinois and part of the Lincoln Trail region, he held various positions including webmaster, newsletter editor, vice president, and membership chair.

Jim enjoys HPDE.  He drove his first HPDE with the Chicago Region PCA at Blackhawk Farms in Illinois in 2005.  He was hooked and has been attending HPDE about once a year ever since.

Jim and his wife bought a home in Las Vegas in 2020 but kept the Cayman S at their Illinois home until they sold that home in 2022 and brought the Cayman S to Las Vegas and transferred [...]
