A regional Porsche car show benefiting the

Intermountain Cancer Center, St. George

RECAP

By Reid Smith

The first Saturday in November marked an incredible Porsche gathering in St. George, Utah. Many LVR members attended this three-state event that featured over 100 Porsches! The Southern Utah members of the Intermountain Region brought us together to raise funds for Intermountain Cancer Center of St. George. We were treated to a tasty German themed brunch prepared by the hospital staff.

A big thank you to those who made this a fantastic event!

From the President’s Desk,

As I write my last President’s Desk message to you, it is mind-boggling to reminisce of the past 3 years as your President. Through it all, I enjoyed every minute of it. Some have inquired why I have invested a large amount of time in dedication to a car club. My answer is that many people, including me, find satisfaction in helping people less fortunate through donations and time, which is invaluable and a very worthy cause. I’m sure many of us provide support to those in need. But at the same time, everyone, no matter their station in life, needs to experience a sense of community and comradery which is a vital part of the human condition. The Porsche club gives us that chance to develop new friendships and experience rewarding activities together. It is all worth it!

I’m excited about the future of our club as we are approaching [...]

Dana and I were glad to finally be able to attend our October monthly brunch, after missing a number of them over our busy Summer. The guest speakers have been fantastic. A big thank you to Lynda Colucci for finding such interesting leaders in our community to spend a Sunday morning sharing their experiences and projects with us.

October brunch featured Jay Vickers, who is the Chief Operating Officer for UNLV’s Sports Innovation [...]

Come enjoy an hour or two of getting together with old and new club members. The restaurant has happy hour until 6pm. We plan to repeat these get-togethers during most months for some well-deserved comradery at a variety of locations. A big shoutout to Martha Burba for heading up these activities for the club! See you there!

We want to let the restaurant know our number of attendees, so PLEASE RSVP by Saturday, November 16th using the link below. We have had several instances where unregistered members have overwhelmed the space that the restaurant has reserved [...]

What a crowd! Our Annual Member Picnic Honoring New Members took place on October 5th. We had a record breaking 89 Members in attendance for our BBQ feast catered by the legendary Road Kill Grill. We were hoping to enjoy mild Fall temperatures but not 100 plus! At least we had plenty of shade under the Pavilion.

Our officers took turns informing everyone about our club activities and members of the Gaudin Porsche team gave updates of the construction on our second Las Vegas Porsche dealership.

Spring Mountain September HPDE a Success!

By Reid Smith

The last weekend of September marked our 3rd High Performance event of the year. Although we experienced hot temperatures, it didn’t stop us from having a fun and uneventful DE. The 3.4-mile configuration of the Charleston Peak track at Spring Mountain Motorsports Raceway is truly world-class. Thanks to our leadership team, our HPDE’s have a reputation for safety and a focus on improving driving skills on all levels.

Michael Myers, who has been our DE Coordinator for a number of years will be stepping down. We thank him for his dedication and countless hours that he has contributed to make it all happen. He has truly been the heart and soul of our DE’s. We wish him the best, and hope to see him at future events.

We are looking for volunteers to step up and help us continue to offer HPDE’s in the future. Interested? [...]

HAPPY TIMES AT THE HOFBRAUHAUS!

By Reid Smith

Beer and brats can do wonders to lift your spirits. We celebrated Ocktoberfest with our Mix and Mingle at the Hofbrauhaus of Las Vegas. If you have never been there, you are missing out on quite an experience. A wide range of Bavarian specialties with German beer to wash it down. The oompah band was a nice touch complete with an alphorn introduction. Pictures tell a thousand words (maybe a few too many)!

From the President’s Desk,

Our active schedule for our club offers many opportunities for all of our members. As you know, we have had events almost every week in the last two months. It is encouraging to see all the new faces as members decide to take advantage of getting together for driving and social activities.

Our Annual Member Picnic Honoring our new members was incredible. We had what must have been a record 89 attendees at the picnic. It was a hot day, but it didn’t affect the comradery and the excellent BBQ. A shout-out to all of our leadership team that made it all happen. When our crew arrived that morning, every table was completely covered with bird poop. Luckily, we brought buckets of soapy water and stiff brushes to get it all cleaned up.

Our third and last High Performance Drivers Education track weekend of the year took place at the end [...]
