VALLEY OF FIRE NEVADA STATE PARK via LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA
Tuesday, March 21, 2023
The Las Vegas Region and Southern Utah Intermountain Region members are hosting our visitors from Arizona Region for a day drive. This should be an incredible experience, driving through the beautiful Lake Mead NRA culminating with a visit to the awesome Valley of Fire State Park. We expect 50 to 60 Porsches to participate!
Because of the number of cars involved it is imperative that we move smoothly through the National Park and State Park entrances. Those registered for the PCA drive must have a prepaid day pass or an annual (or lifetime) pass for EACH park. National Park passes are not accepted as Nevada SP passes. We have made [...]

Intermountain PCA Region invited us to join them in their Porsches and Pastries Christmas in the Canyon get-together on December 10th, at Tuacahn, Utah. Although some of us went up the night before, we had 23 cars that traveled that morning! A special thanks to Gary Lea and Jordan Godorov for organizing the drive. Also, a shout out to Craig Shanklin from IRPCA for a well-organized event!

From the President’s Desk
It’s unbelievable that we are already in 2023! I hope that everyone had a warm and memorable holiday season. I have talked to many of our club friends who traveled to visit loved ones during the busy season. Dana and I actually spent the holidays snuggled in at home, enjoying time together and our decorated tree.
A very well attended club event was Christmas in the Canyon, at Tuacahn outside of St. George, Utah. Gary Lea, with the help of Jordan Godorov, organized the LVR drive that included 23 cars! Combined with those of us who arrived the night before and the St. George PCA members, we had close to 60 cars at Porsches and Pastries in the awesome canyon!
Looking ahead, we are in the planning stages of possible activities for 2023. As you know, we have our After Holiday Dinner Party scheduled for January 22nd. [...]

From the President’s Desk,
Well, the year is wrapping up and I’m reminiscing on our accomplishments for 2022. We entered the year without a newsletter or a functioning website. A special thanks to Interpolnik (John Polnik-JP, and Mike Patriquin) for an absolutely first-class Desert Drives newsletter. A shoutout goes to Alex Harbison and his team for such a quality website. All are LVRPCA members! While our successful activities are too long to list here, I do want to especially thank all of our volunteers for their hours and days of planning and carrying out these events. Our club is alive and well!
Our AFTER-HOLIDAY DINNER PARTY will take place at the M Resort on January 22nd. Some may wonder why our activity calendar listed it as December 18th until it was switched a couple of months ago. I originally booked the dinner last Spring. The backstory: I called into the M Resort [...]
From the President’s Desk,
After an action-filled September we have been able to kick back a little in the first half of October.
Michael Dugan, our Treasurer, has been organizing our monthly Brunch held at Red Rock Country Club. A shout-out to Mike for always taking care of the details. We want to thank David Soyk from Gaudin Porsche for his insight of the sales and service of our cherished Porsches. David was our guest speaker at the October brunch.
Our Drive Meister, Salomon Braun, is back in the country and was planning an October 22nd day drive to Overton. After weeks of perfect weather, the gods of the wind decided to raise a ruckus. Due to blowing dust, Salomon made the wise decision to cancel the drive as a PCA event. A few brave souls were not to be denied and ventured up the road anyway.
On October 28th, [...]

September 17th was a perfect day in Las Vegas with blue sky, 90 degrees and a slight breeze. AUTOFEST has become a can’t-miss annual event featuring the largest collection of interesting vehicles in Las Vegas. Our LVR Corral, plus other Porsches parked throughout the fairways numbered close to 100!
PORSCHE OWNERS ROCK!
