From the President’s Desk,

I hope everyone is enjoying our Las Vegas “dry heat”. Of course, those of you who are reading this from cooler temperatures are chuckling! We are looking forward to YOUR migration back to Las Vegas.

It gives me great sadness to report that two of our beloved members, Donald Goldberg and Carol “Cookie” Scanlon-Goldberg, died in a tragic plane crash at the North Las Vegas Airport. Barbara Barron, our VP and I had a nice visit with them at July’s brunch. They were so excited to fly their Piper to Couer d”Alene Idaho that week.  Both were experienced pilots and flew extensively. I asked Cookie if she and Donald would be interested in being featured in the September issue of Desert Drives “Meet the Members”.
