This past Sunday morning, nine beautiful Porsches, no, make that eight beautiful Porsches and a Genesis met early at Black Bear Diner with the united goal of a great drive through the back country of southern Utah to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.  The morning air was crisp and the skies cloudy.  Our tour leaders, Doug and Leslie Beck greeted us upon arrival and gave us the usual safety talk.

With the prep work out of the way, it was time to get started.  Our drive began by making our way through Hurricane and then on to Apple Valley via Hwy 59.  After Apple Valley we continued [...]

Our four-day tour in May explored three of Nevada’s storied highways.

DAY 1 – Great Basin Highway: Our meetup location was originally set for the Petro Travel Center at the Speedway. After discovering that was the last morning of the EDC Festival and there would be 185,000 blurry-eyed concert goers trying to escape, we wisely switched to another location. Good move! Lunch in Caliente at the Knotty Pine Restaurant, and on to Ely. Absolutely gorgeous snowy mountains made this leg of the trip picturesque. Dinner at JT’s Steakhouse was mouth-watering with grass-fed beef from the owner’s own ranch.

Day 2 – Loneliest Highway in America: In 1986, Life Magazine labeled HWY 50 the “Loneliest Highway in America” and described it as a road with nothing to see. A rep from AAA stated “there are no points of interest. We don’t recommend it, unless they’re confident of their survival skills” We beg to [...]

Today members of the LVRPCA board visited The Just One Project. This organization operates under the banner of …..food bank but operates much differently.

This group headed up by CEO Brooke Neubauer and group has been operating for 21 years now. They started with just a small budget and a dream. As of today they distribute to those in need over 6 million pounds of food a year. When you see what they to accomplish that and how they work [...]

The first ever Porsche car show at Tivoli Village took place on Saturday, April 19th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This event was held to celebrate the opening of Scissors & Scotch, a high-end barber shop that also contains a fully stocked bar.

41 Porsches attended the event, along with 2 Mercedes from our friends with the Mercedes Club. There were also other marques represented – Volkswagen, Lamborghini, and Nissan. 50 vehicles participated in total.

April 12th was a special day for our Las Vegas Region. We made history by having a record turnout of 55 cars participating in a drive! It all started when Frank Grimmelmann from AZPCA let me know that they were planning a Fun Run weekend and wondered if we could organize a drive. They had 19 cars on the way and we supplied the rest! The Mt. Charleston area is beautiful this time of year and we were fortunate to have great weather and roads.

What a day we had at the Porsche Sprint Challenge held at Spring Mountain Motorsports Raceway in March. Over 30 LVR members enjoyed viewing Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday with perfect weather. The tailgate lunch hit the spot, with sandwiches and much more!

Our first HPDE for 2025 was a resounding success. We opened registration early and offered an early bird discount. We had a tremendous response and sold out 2 weeks in advance of the event date.

We were fortunate that that the weather cooperated all weekend with temps in the high 60’s to low 70’s. Nothing better to get out and exercise your car and test your driving skills.

Due to the large turnout, we had the front entry gates opened @ 6AM so we could get participants registered early and allow them to get their cars through tech before the drivers meeting.

This and all of our prior events could not happen without the efforts of our volunteers led by Lisa Disabatino managing all aspects of registration to Ryan Raser and Andy Stahl @ tech ensured a smooth flow from driver registration to completing tech in record time.

Brian Schmidt, our Chief Driving instructor, managed [...]

On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Arts District of Las Vegas transformed into a vibrant canvas of automotive artistry with the return of Cars und Kaffee. Held on the last Sunday of every month, this event—sponsored by Gaudin Classic—has earned its reputation as the go-to gathering for classic Porsche enthusiasts. But it’s more than just a car show; it’s a community-driven celebration that bridges the suburbs and the city’s creative heart.

Set against the eclectic backdrop of the Good Wolf Lifestyle Store, the February edition drew a diverse crowd, many of whom rarely venture into the Arts District. The star attractions? A stunning lineup of vintage Porsches, from air-cooled 911s to rare models preserved with the expertise of Gaudin Classic, North America’s first Porsche Classic Partner. These weren’t cars meant to roar or flaunt excess—they [...]

Toy Drive Event:

At our December brunch, our club came together for a heartwarming toy drive event aimed at spreading holiday cheer to children in need. Although our plans to work with Toys for Tots directly didn’t work out, another local group in Clark County was also in need of toys. With your generous donations, we were able to help bring joy to 3,200 foster children this past holiday season. Thank you for your incredible support in making our Toy Drive for foster kids such a success. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and commitment to making a difference in the lives of these kids. Stay tuned for more ways to get involved, and once again, thank you for spreading hope and happiness!

During our recent Winter Gala, we held a [...]
