Cool Mountain Roads and Porsche Adventures

Summer is officially here!

That was exactly what I was thinking as Dana and I headed north on I-15, hoping to escape the Las Vegas heat and find some cooler temperatures during the Puffer Lake Day Drive.

The dashboard showed a steady 110 degrees (and no, unfortunately, that was not mph) as we made our way to St. George the day before the event.

After a relaxing dinner with Mark and Trudy Wilson and a good night’s sleep, we joined the other Porsches at the morning meetup, ready for what would become an exceptional day of driving.

Scenic Roads and Historic Stops

Rather than simply heading up the interstate, our route took us through Enterprise and toward Cedar City.

Along the way, we encountered some road construction, but our fearless leader carefully guided [...]

Air|Water 2026: A Vegas Crew Rolls Into L.A.

Last month, a strong contingent from the Las Vegas Region PCA made the pilgrimage to one of the most unique gatherings on the Porsche calendar: Air|Water in Los Angeles.

What started as a few cars heading west quickly evolved into a full Vegas caravan. Familiar faces including Dave Sullivan, Radu Muntean, Matt Miller (and his dad), Steve Vitoli, Mario and Marissa, and Chef William all made the trip.

Joining the group were our friends from Gaudin Classic — Steve Thiel, Mikey Patriquin, and Emily Hedwall — along with members of our extended Porsche family from Southern California.

In the end, the weekend became exactly what these events are supposed to be: less about the cars, even though there were plenty of incredible ones, and more about the people.

A Proper Entrance… With a Twist

Two dedicated Las Vegas PCA members recently proved that true Porsche passion knows no borders. JP and Romi Mirza loaded up their air-cooled classics and made the long haul from Las Vegas to Meridian, Idaho, for the second annual Idaho Air event on May 2, 2026.

Romi piloted his hardcore Porsche 934 race car, while JP cruised in his striking Ice Green 1979 Porsche 930. The journey itself was an adventure, covering hundreds of miles through changing landscapes before arriving in the Pacific Northwest for what turned out to be a spectacular celebration of air-cooled Porsches.

A Stunning Display in Meridian

Hosted at the Ten Mile Campus in Meridian, Idaho, just outside Boise, Idaho Air 2026 delivered exactly what enthusiasts crave: more than 120 air-cooled Porsches on display, live music from The Canyon Kids, fresh coffee and bites from local vendors, and a vibrant community atmosphere.

San Francisco Cars und Kaffee Debuts at Stunning New Location!

The San Francisco chapter of Cars und Kaffee celebrated a successful debut at its brand-new venue on Sunday, March 26th. The event moved to the impressive 4,000-square-foot Deeb Spec car showroom in San Rafael, owned by Michael Deeb — JP’s partner from the Bid Nerds.

Attendees were treated to far more than just the cars. The spacious showroom housed an outstanding collection of classic and collectible vehicles, while the walls featured Michael’s eclectic and sophisticated art collection. Instead of the usual vintage gas pumps and 1950s oil signs, guests enjoyed rare Porsche and Italian car prints that made the space feel like a true automotive gallery. Many remarked that the art on the walls was every bit as spectacular as the cars outside.

A huge turnout filled the area, with classic and collectible Porsches (and other fine cars) parked all around [...]

What More Could You Ask For?

Arrival

When the original event was postponed without a new date, we decided not to waste a perfectly good day. Instead, we gathered at Tivoli Village to support two great local businesses: the first anniversary of Scissors & Scotch and the grand opening of JMA Chocolates, located just a few doors down.

About 20 cars rolled in, lining both sides of the street in front of the two establishments and turning the area into an impromptu Porsche display.

The Moment

Friends stopped to admire the cars while members caught up over chocolate and conversation. We were even joined by the infamous duo of Steve and Steve, our good friends from the Mercedes Club, who came out to enjoy the afternoon with us.

The weather cooperated perfectly. It may have been a little warm for February, but the sunshine made for an ideal day to [...]

The Las Vegas Porsche Club of America continues to prove that a passion for performance cars goes hand in hand with a passion for helping the community. This season, club members came together for several meaningful charity initiatives that reflect the heart and generosity of our Porsche family.

Bringing Holiday Joy to Foster Children

The holidays were made brighter through our annual Toy Drive benefiting local foster children. Club members donated thoughtfully selected gifts to ensure children who might otherwise go without could still experience the excitement of the season.

Donations ranged from sports equipment and model cars to more than $500 in gift cards for teens. While the number of gifts was impressive, what stood out most was the spirit of generosity behind every contribution.

“Our greatest horsepower isn’t under the hood — it’s the generosity of our members.”

A Successful Gala Night and Silent Auction

What a fantastic day for a scenic 300-mile round trip through Death Valley and into Beatty, where we’d enjoy a delicious lunch.

It’s been four years since our last adventure, but plans are already in motion for another drive, with side trips to some of the other incredible spots in Death Valley.

We began our morning at the Bass Pro Shop parking lot on Blue Diamond, where we had 27 cars and over 30 people. The weather was sunny and mild, with a starting temperature of 50 degrees. The group was divided into two groups of 13 and 14 cars, respectively. I took the lead of the first group, while Reid Smith took the lead of the second group 15 minutes later.

We set off on Blue Diamond and headed “Over the hump to Pahrump.” Then, we turned southwest on Tecopa Road. There, we picked up Andy Weiss, who was patiently [...]

The Porsche Club Winter Gala was an outstanding evening of camaraderie, generosity, and unforgettable moments—and thanks to our incredible members, local business partners, and supporters, it was a tremendous success on every level.

Guests enjoyed excellent cuisine from Red Rock Country Club, which set the tone for a warm and elegant evening. Adding to the ambiance were several stunning member-owned Porsches generously “loaned” for display, turning the venue into a gallery worthy of the marque we all love.

Our Silent Auction was made possible by the many club members and local businesses who donated thoughtful and unique items, as well as the enthusiastic bidders who helped drive the final totals. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who bid and won items—your generosity directly supports our charitable mission.

A special moment of the evening was the recognition of past president Reid Smith and his wife, Dana, whose dedication and leadership [...]

We had an incredible two-night, three-day FUN-RUN on January 16-18th. AZPCA and LVR have been reciprocating short tours for the last three years. In April we hosted 25 AZPCA cars for our Magical Mystery Drive to Mt. Charleston followed by the new Henderson Gaudin Porsche dealership tour and reception in the afternoon.

Craig Shanklin, our LVR Southern Utah Director, took fabulous pictures and is writing a recap Fridays activities and Saturday’s drive.

Part II is a recap of two highlights: Our WineDown, hosted by Sue Olds, an AZPCA member (also my sister) on Saturday afternoon and Sunday’s Cars & Coffee, held at Alpio’s event facility.

WineDown was suggested by Sue as an activity that would give LVR members a chance to visit and share some fine wines and charcuterie. It proved to be a wonderful afternoon lasting into the evening! Special thanks to Sue and her friend Kristen Miesel for planning [...]

If you missed this year’s tour, mark your calendars for September 2026 and set a reminder to watch for it so you don’t miss it next year.
