The LVR Phoenix Fun Run got off to a fabulous start. All Fun Runners were ready to go in the chilly morning air, after waivers had been signed, goodie bags had been handed out, and the driver’s meeting concluded. The bumpy, yet at times spirited, drive from Railroad Pass Casino to Kingman AZ went well. After a second stop in Wickenburg AZ, we safely arrived in the Phoenix area. Everyone made it to their lodging, got settled, and regathered for a fun and yummy Mexican dinner. Everyone appreciated the drive, the dinner, and our time together. We parted company to get some rest for Saturday’s early start.

By Randy and Martha Burba

Hello, we are Martha and Randy Burba, members of the Las Vegas Porsche Club. We love being members, we love living in Las Vegas, and we love the amazing people in the Porsche club. Our first Porsche was a 2010 Boxster. It was blue with a beige interior. We lived in California at the time, and it was nice driving it up and down PCH by the ocean and up to Pismo Beach.

We both retired from law enforcement in California and are so happy to be permanent residents of Nevada. We currently have two Porsches in the family; I [...]

250 S. Rancho Drive

10:00am

This a repeat tour because we sold out quickly last October!

Las Vegas Region PCA has been invited to a tour of the Maloof auto collection.  Over the years Phil Maloof compiled a unique collection of cars. Although Phil passed in 2020, the family has preserved the collection and has agreed to give us the opportunity to tour the facility. We may also be able to view Phil’s organ collection which is said to be incredible! We are limited to 25 members for the tour, so sign up soon!

Day 2 of our AZPCA fun run started with Cars & Coffee at Alpio’s at Troon. This location is a venue that can be rented out for special occasions and events. A Cars & Coffee event is held twice a month there. Alpio Barbara, the owner of the venue, is a local businessman and car enthusiast, with a dedicated love for all things Ferrari and Porsche.

The Las Vegas region tour participants arrived at the venue at approximately 7:00 am, where were we parked amongst some of the most beautiful cars in the region. This also served as the base for checking in and planning for the next two events of the tour – a fun run to Fountain Hills, AZ and the secret car collection that we were to [...]

From the President’s Desk,

First of all, I want to thank JP John Polnik, and Mikey Patriquin of Interpolnik LLC for their creative talents with editing and publishing our Desert Drives. Both are professionals in their fields and are LVRPCA members. How lucky can we get! I took time to view the newsletters of the 16 regions in PCA Zone 8 and we are among the best. If you do not take time to click through each monthly issue of our Desert Drives, you are totally missing out.

January started out with a bang!

Week 1

First Lady Dana and I set out for sunny CA during the first weekend to attend the Zone 8 President’s meeting. One of the topics was for each President tell of improvements needed in their region. When it came to me, [...]
