Brad Cameron
Porsche Club of America Las Vegas Region sanctioned a High-Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) weekend at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada, on September 6 and 7, 2025. Held in near perfect mid-90s weather, the event attracted a solid turnout from such places as Dallas, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Utah, Southern California, and of course our locals. Our reach for drivers is expanding with each event thanks to the efforts of the HPDE volunteers.
Over 90 drivers, including eight beginners, had the opportunity to practice their skills in the art of performance driving. The club provided twelve instructors, led by Roger Garrell (covering as Chief Driving Instructor while Brian Schmidt was on an exciting Safari in Africa, driving Porsches of course!) Roger and the team of volunteer instructors did a magnificent job guiding the student drivers from the skid pad to the track as well as orienting experienced drivers with the Spring Mountain Charleston [...]

- Comments Off on Autofest 2025: A Resounding Success
Another Autofest has concluded, and it was an absolute triumph. We once again secured the coveted Top Marque spot at the show, showcasing over 85 cars. While we fell short of our ambitious goal of 100 cars, our performance was undoubtedly outstanding. The closest competitor was the Corvette Club, with a remarkable 21 cars. But let’s be honest, they were no match for us.
This year, we celebrated our second annual show and shine, with 11 cars vying for the coveted prizes. The judging criteria [...]

- Comments Off on RECAP – LAS VEGAS REGION IDAHO TOUR 2025
By Reid & Dana Smith
What a way to kick off September. A full week of driving, eating and enjoying incredible scenery. The following is a daily recap of highlights.
Day 1: We officially kicked off our tour on Labor Day, September 1st, with a meetup at Love’s Travel Stop on US-93, north of Las Vegas. We started with four Porsches, picked up two more in Ely, headed north to Twin Falls and on to the Boise area. Most of our tourers decided to start their vacation early, taking two or more days to get to Idaho. We met for a get-acquainted dinner at LandOcean Restaurant in Meridian with 18 people.

Greetings to all you wonderful Porsche People!
Welcome to October! This usually means a drop in temperatures that we’ll all be delighted about.
September was an incredible month for us. We had many great things happen and some wonderful success stories.
First of all, our September HPDE set a new record for a late summer event. Despite the temperatures being in the 90s, we had 101 cars and drivers attend. By all accounts, it was a very well-received event, and people had nothing but positive praise for their experience. One person even wrote to PCA National to praise the event—haven’t heard of that in a while!
We must give a special shoutout to all the volunteers, but a special mention goes to Brad Cameron, who is the new CoChair, along with Brian Schmidt, who stepped in to run the show while many were on vacation or busy with other things. He did an amazing job, [...]

By: Jordan Godorov
The Porsche Club of America will celebrate their 70th Anniversary on September 13, 2025. Linda Goodman, PCA’s historian, gave a great webinar a few months back on the history of the club and how it got started. If you want to access the webinar in its entirety, please log in to your PCA member account on the national website and look for RegionFocus webinars. The webinar she gave is RegionFocus #78.

7081-mile Road Trip with our Boxster 986
Ever since riding in the backseat, yes, the backseat of a 1970 Porsche 911 E Targa at age 16, I have been a 911 guy. Even when I couldn’t afford a 911, I bought 914s and dreamed. I have had “affairs” with other car brands from time to time but have always come back. It was during one of those non-Porsche times in my life – while owning a C7 Corvette – that I started dreaming of a cross-country road trip. A big road trip, one that would encompass at least 6000 miles. We would head toward Washington D.C. via a southern route based loosely on interstate 40, spend lots of time on good sports car roads in the Appalachians, and hit the Atlantic near Washington D.C. where my son Ben and his family live. After a visit of a few days, we would head west in a northerly arc, through Ohio, Illinois, on through South Dakota, and stop [...]

PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA – A SEVENTY-YEAR ROMANCE IN THE USA
Seventy years ago, a group of Porsche enthusiasts in North America came together to form what would become the Porsche Club North America (PCNA). Since its inception, the club has grown exponentially and now boasts a membership of over 100,000 Porsche owners and enthusiasts. The official date falls 4 days after my 71st birthday. Ironic in a way. I have been a Porsche loyalist since I can remember. It has been a wonderful ride and an awesome relationship. We were estranged for a few years but now that we are back together? Well i am sure that this time it is till death do we part!
In the early days, the club was a small, tight-knit community of Porsche owners who shared a passion for the iconic German sports cars. They [...]

Happy September!
Greetings to all you beautiful Porsche enthusiasts!
August was a month to remember for many reasons.
Where do I even begin?
One of the highlights of August was this year’s Monterey Car Week, particularly the 2025 Porsche Club Werks Reunion. I’ve got a recap of it in this month’s issue.
We’re now into our ninth month of the year, and time seems to be flying by. As we age, the concept of time changes with each passing day. It’s as if time is speeding up, making it harder to find the brake pedal!
Our Mix and Mingles events continue, but attendance varies. If you know of an establishment with great ambiance that would like to be a future event venue, please let us know. We’re always looking for new places to add to our list and avoid monotony.
Our Aviators Night was a great success and filled up the VIP suite. Cannot wait [...]
